A 16-year-old girl was allegedly defiled by two accused sexual offenders in the Lafenwa neighborhood of Abeokuta, Ogun State, and the crime was captured on camera as they took turns on her.
A manhunt has begun to capture the other suspect who fled the scene after the incident on Tuesday in Ogunyemi Street, according to the state police command, which informed the media that one of the suspects, simply known as Kayode, has been arrested.
In a chat with reporters, the command stated that the teenage girl was sent by her mother on an errand in the area and sought cover outside a compound during a downpour.
She said to the police that her friend, who she had requested to stay with her, had entered the property and been invited into the suspect’s sitting room, where she was seated in a chair.
The police reported that Kayode, who had sexual relations with her and had taken her underwear off, had shoved her to the ground and violently knocked her off balance.
Another suspect appeared out of nowhere and started taking videos of them while Kayode was having his way with her.
According to the police, after Kayode finished, the other suspect—who is thought to be a local resident named Olamide—gave him the phone and then started abusing her.
Before releasing the adolescent, the two offenders allegedly had their way with her three times and recorded the activities on the same phone, according to the police.
The state police public relations officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the arrest and revealed that the second suspect was still being sought after.
“The victim was issued medical papers for a medical check-up,” she continued. After the arrest of one suspect, we launched a manhunt for the other. For additional investigation, the case will be turned over to the State Criminal Investigation Department.
