“Why I won’t celebrate my 100 days in office – Niger gov”

Bago’s Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, highlighted some of the governor’s achievements in a statement, stressing the importance of documenting and recording accomplishments. Ibrahim also provided insights into Governor Bago’s strategic plans for the state’s development, encompassing areas like security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, and more.

The governor’s achievements in his first 100 days in office include:

  • Establishment of a new Divisional Police Headquarters in Chanchaga, replacing an old structure built on a water pipeline that disrupted water supply to over 200 residents.
  • Restoring order on the Suleja-Abuja highway by regulating traders’ activities and parking during the weekly Madalla market, reducing traffic congestion.
  • Approval of a monthly payment of N30 million to the National Examination Council (NECO).
  • Sponsorship of citizens for pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia and provision of Sallah welfare packages (N100,000 each) to government employees.
  • Restoration of the dignity of traditional institutions by visiting all eight Emirate councils in the state to pay Sallah homage, reversing the traditional rulers’ visit to the government house.
  • Procurement and distribution of subsidized fertilizers and farm inputs for the 2023 wet season.
  • Distribution of 20 operational vehicles to various security agencies in the state to combat illicit drug trade and other crimes.
  • Rehabilitation of a section of the Minna-Bida road and the signing of a contract agreement for the construction of 556 km of roads across the state.
  • Distribution of food items worth N3 billion across all 25 local government areas in response to the petroleum subsidy removal.

Bologi Ibrahim concluded that the first 100 days in office demonstrated that the people of Niger State made a wise choice in the last gubernatorial election.
