Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, has criticized Babafemi Ojudu, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, for his remarks about orchestrating the impeachment of former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose. Ojudu recently revealed on a podcast that he plotted Fayose’s impeachment with support from former President Olusegun Obasanjo, claiming he used lawmakers to execute the plan.
In his response via social media, Olayinka dismissed Ojudu’s boast, sharing an image of Fayose attending an event in Lagos and “walking tall” despite past political controversies. Olayinka challenged Ojudu to walk freely in public and be recognized like Fayose, suggesting that Ojudu’s actions lacked lasting credibility.
The podcast revelations have sparked debate, with Ojudu recounting how Obasanjo later opposed him after realizing the political maneuvering. Meanwhile, Fayose continues to maintain his public presence, with supporters praising his resilience amidst past challenges.
