Pastor David Ibiyeomie has alleged that some politicians may be behind the recent abductions of schoolchildren across Nigeria. The Salvation Ministries founder said the kidnappers could not be carrying out such operations without the support of powerful sponsors.

The cleric questioned why security agencies have been unable to track and arrest those responsible despite having the capacity to locate criminals. Ibiyeomie  suggested that influential individuals may be shielding those behind the attacks.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State House of Assembly has rejected calls to negotiate with kidnappers holding abducted pupils and teachers in Ogbomoso. Lawmakers insisted that security agencies should intensify rescue efforts and maintain pressure on the abductors until the victims are released.
