In a shocking incident, gunmen reportedly abducted two landlords in the Asokoro extension area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Sunday, demanding a hefty N20 million ransom for their release.
The armed men executed the kidnapping operation around 11 pm on Sunday. According to a resident identified as James, the attackers initially targeted one landlord who was sleeping outside due to the heat. At gunpoint, they forced him to lead them to his house but were dissatisfied with the property. Subsequently, the armed men compelled the landlord to guide them to another neighboring house, gaining access through his known identity.
Simultaneously, the second landlord, who had just arrived home on a motorcycle due to car issues, fell victim to the assailants as they abducted him while he was entering his house.
The kidnappers have reportedly reached out to the families of the victims, demanding a total ransom of N20 million – N10 million for each victim. The families are currently in negotiations with the abductors.
One of the victims’ families reportedly offered to pay N2 million immediately, but the kidnappers rejected the amount, threatening to harm the victim if the full N10 million ransom was not paid.
