Lagos Girl Kidnapped: Family Urges Police

The family of 13-year-old Miracle Adereti is in distress, urgently calling on the police to locate their daughter who was abducted by an unknown gang in the Ikotun area of Lagos State. The harrowing incident occurred as Miracle was returning from school on Friday, December 1.

Reports indicate that the kidnappers had trailed her to school in the morning, patiently waiting until the closing period. The assailants, parked a short distance away from the school premises, seized Miracle while she and her sister were walking home.

Miracle’s father, Segun Adereti, expressed shock and disbelief over the incident. Adereti recounted that he had taken his children to the bus stop in the morning, where the school bus usually picks them up before heading to his workplace at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

The distraught father shared his ordeal with journalists, revealing that he received a distressed call in the afternoon about the kidnapping of his daughter. He disclosed that the gang, falsely claiming he had sufficient funds as a politician, demanded a ransom for Miracle’s release.

Adereti promptly reported the incident to the nearest police station on the same day. However, he received threatening calls from the kidnappers, warning him not to involve law enforcement.

Expressing deep distress, Adereti pleaded with the Nigeria Police Force to take swift action to track down the culprits. He highlighted the threats received from the kidnappers and implored the police to secure his residence, emphasizing the perilous situation faced by his family.

“The situation has traumatised my family. I earnestly appeal for immediate intervention to bring these criminals to justice and ensure our safety,” Adereti added, making a heartfelt plea for the swift and effective involvement of law enforcement agencies in rescuing Miracle from her abductors.
