A businessman who was headed to Paris was detained by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) when he threw up 111 wraps of cocaine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) in Abuja.
After being under observation for several days while in the agency’s custody, 48-year-old Emmanuel Orjinze, the suspect, expelled the wraps, according to a statement released on Sunday in Abuja by NDLEA spokesman Mr. Femi Babafemi.
Orjinze, who also claimed to be a professional football player in Europe, was detained on Tuesday, according to Babafemi, during the departure clearance of Airfrance flight AF 878 from Abuja to Paris, France.
“111 cocaine pellets were expelled from him when he was taken into jail, following a body scan that revealed he had consumed illegal substances.
Over the course of three days, 1.603 kilos of cocaine pellets were consumed.
He said, “The suspect stated he works in the maritime industry and is still looking for any European football team to hire him.”
